Impact folding principle

借助于縱折三角板，沿紙張的縱向獲得折，活動伸出折頁滾筒沖折紙張，將紙張推至兩個連續旋轉的折輥4之間，將所折頁帖壓實，并傳送到收帖花滾筒。按此原理進行折頁的折頁裝置稱為沖擊式折頁機。沖擊式折頁機結構簡單，適于高速印刷，但折頁精度稍低。

滾折式折頁原理

已經斷切待折的紙張在折頁滾筒2和輸出滾筒1上，由挑針4挑住轉動，在對滾滾筒的連心線上，彈性折刀5將紙張3入滾筒2的空檔中，夾板6和7沿折線將其夾緊，并由滾筒2帶走，折刀從折縫中退出。利用一個滾筒的折刀和另一個滾筒的夾板在相對滾動中完成折頁的裝置稱為滾筒式折頁機。

The paper that has been cut and to be folded is held and rotated by the pick-up needle 4 on the folding drum 2 and the output drum 1. The device that uses the folding knife of one drum and the splint of another drum to complete folding in relative rolling is called drum folding machine.

滾動式折頁機折頁精度較高，速度快，一般用在卷筒紙書刊輪轉印刷機上。根據所完成的折頁次數，折帖的類型，采用不同數目的折頁滾筒和折頁方案。

刀式折頁原理

Knife folding principle

刀式折頁是采用折刀1將紙張4壓入兩個相對旋轉的折頁輥2之間，再由折頁輥送出，完成一次折頁過程。完成折頁后的紙張被傳送帶帶走，進入第二折，第三折。

Knife folding uses a folding knife 1 to press the paper 4 between two relatively rotating folding rollers 2, and then sent out by the folding roller to complete a folding process. The paper after folding is taken away by the conveyor belt and enters the second and third folds.

刀式折頁具有較高的精度，書帖折縫壓的實，由于折刀的運動慣性，折頁速度較慢。

柵欄式折頁原理

Principle of fence folding

由輸頁裝置送出的印張4，經過兩個旋轉的折頁輥2，輸送到折頁柵欄里，撞到柵欄檔板5時，印張便被迫彎曲成對半形折入折頁輥3中間，完成折折頁，然后將折過一折的書帖到下一個折頁柵欄里，用同樣的方法進行第二、第三折。后被送到收紙臺，完成一個書貼的折疊工作。

沖擊式、滾折式、刀式以及柵欄式這四種是常見的折頁方式，每一種都有各自的特點。實踐固然重要，但是理論知識是實踐的提和基礎，二者不可荒廢其一。

Impact type, roll folding type, knife type and fence type are four common folding methods, each of which has its own characteristics. Practice is important, but theoretical knowledge is the basis of practice. One of the two should not be abandoned.
